Orthotics

Orthotics is a department which can be found within a hospital, community centre or a private clinic. This splint will assist with the rehabilitation or maintenance of the injury / condition. Follow up appointments for the Orthotic will be made to ensure the splint is fit for purpose, alterations to joint angles to be made if necessary and for hygiene reasons. The patient may be permitted to take the splint of for physiotherapy exercises and washing, dependent upon the instructions from the health care professional prescribing the splint.
